phaseiiThe Global Cholangiocarcinoma Alliance (GCA) came together for the first time on February 12, 2019, and has united to establish a global voice in cholangiocarcinoma (CCA). An alliance of physicians, patients, healthcare professionals, researchers, and patient advocacy groups, with a shared vision to raise the awareness of CCA in order to improve prevention, survival, and the quality of life of patients with CCA globally. The GCA has a dedicated and highly experienced global steering committee, which includes representatives from across the globe, who meet regularly to steer and guide the initiative.
The mission of the GCA is to drive awareness of CCA globally through community collaborations, while continuing to raise awareness of the resources and support currently available.
Partnered with several organizations from all over the world, the GCA works to support areas where an unmet need exists for the CCA community, including marking World Cholangiocarcinoma Day to raise awareness of CCA and to encourage early and accurate diagnosis. Other areas of focus for the GCA include encouraging the consistent and timely adopting of WHO coding, patient support programs, and a primary care education campaign.
